Scene 2.1 Teambuilding (Paula & Darla)

Overheat and Conjuress were approached by CL30 to do a team-building exercise. After the two of them attempted to cheat their way out of an egg-raising thing (by giving the assignment to Overheat to solo), CL30 locked them in a puzzle room.

No one was happy about this.

Overheat and Conjuress (going by Darla, in civvies) had to begin to work together to solve the puzzle room to escape.

They ended up talking a little more after Darla showed a surprising aptitude for riddles, where she reluctantly revealed that her friends run D&D and she normally played with them before jail.

Darla accused Overheat of thinking she was an idiot, and Overheat countered by asking what her skill is, then, aside from magic.

As they worked through the clues, Overheat prodded more and got that Darla was into fashion, and also that she isn't allowed to contact her friends because she's in witness protection (???).

Darla, finding out that Overheat's fashion sense used to be "preppy", surmised that she must be from a very strict uppity family and steals shit to feel a sense of control over her life.

Overheat was stunned, as this was right on the money.

Darla stressed that THAT is her skill. Sparkling heart. skull emoji

Eventually, as they got stuck in a clue loop, Spellweaver showed up. Darla was very hostile towards him. Overheat was confused about where the hostility was coming from, since he's like. You know. Cool

Darla shared that she'd found out that he's a Demiurge, which Spellweaver insisted was not accurate or bad btw

He dropped some lore about his relationship with Knight; namely, that he experiences it out of order, so the first time he'd met Knight was long after Knight knew him.

He also casually dropped that he'd been trying to destroy and remake the world at the time. Motive unclear

Overheat: WHAT. WHAT. WhAT

Darla: Okay so this guy is like Q (Spellweaver: omg I love that guy him and Picard are so romantic)

He did give them a hint though for the room so that was nice. he also revealed that the room was a training room made by Mr. Knight's dad to prepare the kids for (Forgot the Riddler analogue's name)

He also insinuated that Mr. Knight is lying to them about some part of his identity. "Who is Shadow Knight? Carter or Parker?" Honestly his angle was so esoteric that it would be hard to quote but Darla got all thoughtful and went to grab a book on the Knights' genealogy

Overheat meanwhile had gotten tired of this guy's bullshit lore drops and as back to trying to actually solve the riddles

Which they did! And they were out of the room. And on speaking terms now, wow

Mr. Knight: why are you guys in the puzzle room

Well because you… asked CL30 to do trust exercises with us? Mr. Knight's like, hm that's weird, she's been with me all day

(Turns around to find Spellweaver outline where he was) YOU SON OF A-

Ending: Darla proposed they run a D&D game that Spellweaver is not invited to to get back at him. Overheat was like you know what yeah. yeah!!!
