Scene 1.1 Darla & Knight

Knight found Darla in the garden throwing pots into the air and blowing them up. He opened by saying that he also used to break shit around the house when he was mad as a kid

Darla said a lot of stuff criticizing Mr. Knight's methods vis a vis rehabilitation, accusing him of putting them through his own fucked up childhood abuse (he had mentioned that the superhero thing was passed down along his family)

Knight genuinely apologized (again) for not warning them about it being a live fire exercise, pain wise, after she told him point blank that her dad, total bastard, would not have done that to her.

Darla went on to vent about this being worse than jail actually, because she wasn't hero material. It came to an end more or less when she joked she might die fighting a supervillain and Knight vehemently said he would not let that happen, that he wants them to get a chance to be the heroes they can be.

Well she just wanted to be NORMAL! His stupid form never asked that. Knight seemed to understand this deeply. It's bullshit, man. (Guy who never got to be normal either because his father wanted him to be a hero)

By this time, her anger was starting to wind down. She asked, now sulking, why he would bother going to such lengths for kids he doesn't know. Are they his project? Like he's a dog or lonely or something and he'll chew the couch if he doesn't train superheroes? He answered by whispering in her ear. The answer seemed to sober her.

He offered to try and negotiate her parole. If being normal is what she wants, then he can try his best to arrange it. Her father will be an obstacle, though, she points out. There's no way he won't look for her, no matter what. And he has resources too. Knight assures her that they will do their best. Just hold out and try a few months of hero work.

They settled into banter as things kind of trailed off. Knight revealed casually that the mind mage guy is his therapist. Darla told him to hire a better one. (He may be a demiurge, also.)

She asked why she wasn't allowed to buy a car, and Knight said it was actually just because she only has a learner's permit. They can arrange for lessons if she wants.

Yeah sure I'll get lessons from Batman. Wait. Which hero were you again?

SHADOW KNIGHT (FAMOUS GUY ON PAR WITH BATMAN)???? (scene cuts)
