Dr. Buzz
MASTERMIND: Dr. Buzz - Originally a well meaning and scatterbrained honor student from an Ivy League School, Steve "Weezer" Moon was involved in a freak accident at a science expo involving several chemicals and quantum theory sent him to another dimension and gave him both trauma and anxiety and a latent representation of his mind in physical space when he came back.
A large commotion erupted, placing him at the center of chaos as this manifestation lashed out. Eventually what came from the unknown was taken down thanks to the efforts of other heroes.
When he woke up, he knew he did something horribly, terribly wrong. Hooked up to several machines overlooked by a large audience, he whimpered in fear at the attention and the large nightmare lingering at his mind. The hospital staff were kind and understanding, but the heroes and law enforcement were stern, yet also understanding. Given the circumstances, he was let off the hook as it wasn't his fault.
This did not help with the elephant in the room.
Hospital costs,
Reputation costs,
Poor insurance,
The loud ringing in his head,
And the nightmare's shadow that he could see by his bedside, inactive. With no cure, or explanation in sight. The heroes when questioned about it shrugged, saying that the physical sign of it was taken down and had no idea what he was talking about. Doctors admitted that they didn't have any experience and couldn't help him aside from therapy.
Which costs more money.
Going back to school after the hospital stay was also more money. Turns out he was out for a lot longer than he expected, which caused him to miss an entire semester. Dismayed and the ringing in his head increasing, with that nightmare by his side whispering constantly. He was about to scream until the faint words started to make sense, forming an enticing plot with one question.
"You're a genius, aren't you? Don't you want to help yourself?"
Six months later, the villain known as Dr. Buzz was taken down, apologizing as he was arrested at a chemical laboratory with a handful of chemicals in his arms. The heroes knew better from the prior robberies and attacks on similar areas, along with the efforts taken to take down the same ethereal being from six months prior, now clearly cognizant and working in tandem with him, dressed in a labcoat, a hat, and goggles.
Less sympathy was present, and he was sentenced to a decade in prison. When asked for comment after the sentencing, he looked paralyzed with fear, before giving a smile.
"Worth it."
Powers:
- Genius-level intellect: A scientific genius. Where Chip is an engineer, Dr. Buzz is a chemist, a physicist, an all-around theoretical mastermind.
- Super-Willpower: Dr. Buzz and Weezer possess incredible, hidden mental fortitude. Perhaps because of the strength of their bond?
- Mr. Hyde: A projection from the depths of Weezer's mind, the good doctor Buzz is a physical manifestation of his psyche. He hits hard, and though his form can be dissipated, Weezer himself remains unharmed.
- Chemical Mastery: Dr. Buzz and Weezer are collectively master chemists, mixing up and throwing potion-like concoctions for a variety of purposes. Most of them are imbibed, but one in particular can be thrown against the ground to create a wall-shield.
